POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Supervising Addiction Counselor (CSAC) at our residential treatment program is responsible for performing
advanced client care duties in support of the rehab process in a competent manner under the direction of the Program Director. The CSAC will deliver comprehensive social, educational, vocational, medical, psychological, and housing rehabilitative program services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises day-to-day operation and staffing in conjunction with the Program Director.
Perform treatment services within the 12-core functions of professional substance abuse counseling.
Facilitates individual and group counseling sessions with Clients.
Presents Psych-education groups and facilitates process groups.
Maintains Client case record, documenting all sessions and interaction with Clients including the type, time, and length of session, also capturing the content, clinical assessment, behavior, observations, plan, intervention, response, etc.
Works with Clients directly to assist in the identification of problems list, major goals of treatment episodes.
Performs Client clinical intake assessment, such as screening for eligibility, intake and ASAM multidimensional assessments, and biopsychosocial assessment.
Provides referral to outside providers when appropriate.
Collaborates with clients to design and implement Master Treatment Plan’s objectives.
Performs regular Treatment Plan reviews and makes status updates or changes to the Master Treatment plan.
Coordinates w/other treatment team members when specialized services are necessary.
Recognizes when Clients are in need of medical or psychiatric services.
Meets weekly w/the team to report observations and reactions to Clients and to review Clients’ progress.
Performs and facilitates case management sessions with Clients.
Assisting with client legal, occupational, educational, medical, familial, and other “life skills” and necessities
Assessing and diagnosing SUD and providing evidence of diagnoses and severity in clinical charts.
Uphold and enforce G.L.O.M. Substance Abuse Programs standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.
Participate in the agency’s Orientation training, staff meetings, and in-service training.
Adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, exercise professionalism at all times.
Exercise awareness in cultural competency, client satisfaction, quality of services, client needs, and overall health and safety staff and clients.
Maintain a high degree of self-awareness and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Perform any/all other duties as assigned by your assigned supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old.
Current American Red Cross Adult First Aid, CPR Completion Certificate or agree to complete before start date.
Must provide documentation of a TB test within the last year.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
License Required: Valid California Driver’s License – Class B.
Travel: Willingness to travel: 25% of day.
Certified Alcohol and/or Other Drug Counselor Level I or greater (CADC-I, CADC-II, CADC-III, LAADC), by State-approved organization (i.e. CCAPP)
Minimum of 1 year of experience with substance use disorder (SUD) specific population.
Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields.
Exercises mature judgment and projects a professional demeanor.
Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Excellent professional and personal boundaries with clients.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.
Ability to navigate stairs and walkways unencumbered.
Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual dexterity.
